In this month’s Coaches Corner Chase Campbell of the Indiana Fever joins us to discuss how he teaches multi-directional movement with his athletes. Coach Campbell covers 4 different movements these include:
- Plyo-Step
- Lateral Run Step/Cross Over Step
- Hip Turn
- Curvilinear Running
For each of these movement skills, Chase shares why he teaches them, the cue’s and teaching language he uses for each, and some troubleshooting for common issues he sees.
All the team sport athletes we work with need to have the ability to stop, change direction, and accelerate. This 11-minute break down is fantastic to provide some new ways to improve how your athlete’s change direction in competition.
We are hoping to provide the best possible content for strength coaches with each of our shows. If feel this could provide value for anyone else in the strength and conditioning field please feel free to share.
