Today I have the absolute pleasure of sitting down and discussing the evolution of strength and conditioning with Martin Rooney. Martin is going to dive right into talking about the evolution of our field, but mostly the education of strength coaches, including how sharing, passing on, and empathy being “cool” for a long time. He then shares with us the “stages” of being a strength coach, along with the steps from going from athlete to coach. Next, he dived into a couple of questions to ask ourselves about how we can be better as COACHES for our athletes. This includes a great little tip about rest periods, and how we can better utilize those to better connect with our athletes. We finish off discussing his latest book, “Coach To Coach.” Make sure you hop over to https://www.trainingforwarriors.com/coach-to-coach-book-launch/ to grab your copy, and don’t forget to cash in on the “get one give one” bonus!
